Hi, I am moving to Vancouver and want to base myself in North Vancouver whilst I look for work. Wondered where would be a good place with close access to trails for hikes, decent bar to watch hockey, decent sushi restaurant and easy access to downtown (within 30-40 mins). I was looking at deep cove which looks like a nice place. I’m in my mid-30s.
Also, is there still snow on the three mountains north of Vancouver in mid-March?
I think Deep Cove is a great area to be in the North Shore with great access to hiking & mountain biking trails, to boating & watersports and to the town's selection of coffee shops, restaurants and pubs. I personally have close friends who live there.
Thanks to its beautiful location, Deep Cove experiences a flood of visitors and traffic to the area on weekends.
The biggest downside is its access to downtown Vancouver. It is approximately a 40 minute drive to downtown Vancouver during off peak traffic times.
With regards to snow, we usually do have some on the mountain tops of Grouse, Seymour and Cypress in March.
