Fake fur - views from those in the vegan/AR community? (buy, eat)

As long as it looks fake, I think it is fine. I wouldn't wear a realistic looking fake fur because I wouldn't want to be mistaken for one of those people that real wear fur, EVER.
It's not a thread on vegetarian foods, either .....
If you're asking why the thread is in this FORUM, well, note the first line in the OP's starter:
Since animal rights issues (e.g. wearing fur) often coincide with vegetarian issues, such questions sometimes pop up here.
If you have a suggestion for a better forum for this thread, please let me know.
The fashion forum might be more appropriate. One doesn't need to be vegan to appreciate fake fur. By putting this in the vegan forum, you're excluding omnivores who prefer fake fur over real fur. I've had coats with fake fur collars, and they keep me warm and they're easier to clean, and they look great. I'm also not a vegetarian.
This thread (and other similar sentiments) is the reason people mistakenly think vegans are idiots. It has no business whatever here and the fact that it remains is enough for me. Fake fur debate in a food forum.
I'm wondering what the general consensus is on this issue, in the Vegan/AR community?
Given that ^^this^^ was the OP's question, I don't see how asking the question in the Fashion forum would be appropriate. Unless, of course, most of the members who participate in that forum are vegetarian/vegan.
For those of you who are so upset about this thread being here, I suggest you petition for an Animal Rights forum -- as that's probably the most appropriate setting for this topic.
Until then, it's fine right where it is.

The OP wanted opinions from those who have an animal rights perspective, this is the most appropriate place for the question. Why would s/he want a bunch of omnivores opinions on it? They obviously don't have an animal rights perspective considering they still eat them.
