From what I read about oysters, they are similar to plants as they are a water "filter" and feed off of plankton. Similar to plants that "filter" the air and feed off of nutrients in the ground.

Vegan and vegetarian are diets, right? Similar to omnivor, carnivor, or atkins. Similar only that it is a diet, obviously. When you get into ethics is when it gets confusing. When you look at oysters they do less damage to the earth than even plants, imho. Or, to be pc, have very little "foot print". But they are a protien in the form of meat.

Being around people who jump from one diet to another, popular one is atkins, you tend to wonder why? Then you realize that they are not bashing one diet from another, they don't look down on you for what you choose to eat, and you are happy that they are happy.

It used to be that ya don't talk about religion or politics.......anymore we should probably throw food in there, too. or diets.

I guess the best diet is local, sustainable, and what your body needs and can handle.....and throw in a few things ya might just like/want.

Fish have feelings, memories and are social. They experience pain. Broccoli, doesn't. Bringing up that old plant/animal dichotomy is an absurd excuse for doing something for which there is no excuse, IMHO.
