I had this question in the back of my mind and as I was reading here, I saw that someone had mentioned Spirituality in one of their posts.

I also consider myself to be a Christian, but lean more toward describing myself as "Spiritual". Like the poster that I am referring to~it seems to have a lot to do with my feelings of being in tune with nature and sticking with the veggies.

Absolutely!

I'm a pretty dedicated Yogi so even if Ahimsa (non-harming) was not spelled out as a reason not to eat meat, being so in touch with my body and spirit allows me to hear the strong signals that eating meat its not something we should do.

Depends. If you are talking about the Earth and nature and stuff, yes. Organized religion-no way.

I think my religion had a definite influence on my decision not to eat meat. The dietary restrictions and the scripture and concepts that support them made me think of things that I might have taken for granted otherwise. I think not eating meat has a definite spiritual aspect for me now.

I'm an atheist, but I sort of consider myself to be "spiritual", in the sense that I have a lot of fascination with the human mind and the experiences it can have. That, to me, is as awe-inspiring as religion is to many other people.

I have a lot of interest in Buddhism too, so I guess that philosophy is also spiritual in a way.

I've been vegetarian most of my life, vegan for about 8 years now.

I am also an atheist. I don't have any interest in organized religion whatsoever. Doesn't mean I am not "spiritual" though - I am very interested in Buddhism as a philosophy. I believe all life is connected and we should treat our planet and our fellow beings with respect and love, because we are all connected. I strongly believe that our current culture of killing and/or exploiting other beings (human / animals) that are weaker than we are, are responsible for most problems in society.

I am a Christian. I don't really know what you are referring to with the term "spiritual" but I do believe that eating a Vegan/Vegetarian way was how we were originally created to eat.

Yes, with nature.. all things nature- earth, animals, everything. I want to be in tune with all things that surround me. No organized religion here although i was raised catholic, it is definitely not my thing. I am most tied with Buddhism than anything else. Spiritual with regard to respect All living creatures, that they all have a place special here and for us not to exploit creatures great or small. So guess that is my Spiritual stand!
