Hundreds of thousands of dairy cows are being sent to slaughter as farms downsize herds due to declining milk prices.

The Associated Press: Dairy cows head for slaughter as milk prices sour

Some see this as a positive since death is often better than the quality of life given to these cows. However, I see it as an issue of our (human) design. Something to consider....

I don't get it, what exactly is the point to consider there?
It's not like milk cows usually die of old age, they are slaughtered at some point either way. Just like all livestock on a farm.

Not to mention that dairy is one of the major killers in everyone's diet. There is NO reason to support the dairy industry. It probably kills more humans than it does cattle.

No, there is pretty much no "like all livestock on a farm" anymore. At least not for meat bought at grocery stores or eating establishments at large.

Animals are not quietly led to slaughter with a sharp blade anymore....

Quite the opposite. I am talking dragging, hanging, shooting and bleeding out...

LMAO, so true. I don't know why dairy is such a large part of our diets. It's so bad for you. If you really think about it, it makes absolutely no sense to drink the milk of another mammal.

I'm not 100% Vegan, but I do try to limit my dairy intake.

Considering that the dairy industry is the direct reason we have a veal industry, I mean, do the math and [BULLHORN] STEP AWAY FROM THE DAIRY CASE WITH YOUR HANDS OVER YOUR HEAD. PROCEED DIRECTLY TO THE PRODUCE AISLE. [/BULLHORN]

Very true.
The whole "veal" industry is heartbreaking.
