Tonight-patty melts (dinner, grocery, taste, burger)

Veggie. Boca Burgers, but they make a good patty melt.

What kind of boca burgers? I used to love patty melts and thought I would never have another.....

I know that my omni friends like the All American Flame Grilled version which contains milk and cheese. I prefer the Original Vegan version. With all the other ingredients on the patty melt, it doesn't make a lot of difference to the finished sandwich. I love patty melts made with mushroom sauce and swiss cheese (made with veggie rennet). Good bread/rolls always make a big difference.

Add hot burger patty with melted cheese on top to a lightly toasted roll (I use the gas burners on the stove). Top with mushroom sauce and enjoy

Mushroom sauce:
Brown Gravy mix (in the paper envelope) prepared with a bit less water than specified
Add one 4oz can of sliced button mushrooms drained
Salt and pepper to taste (gravy mix is usually salty enough)
Yields a thick brown mushroom sauce enough for 4 sandwiches

I use the flame grilled ones, grilled onions, American cheese and rye bread.
