More and people are waking up to the poison they are injesting. I joined the Vegan community a year ago and I've never felt better and I don't miss meat, chicken, fish, eggs, milk, etc...one bit.
AND I haven't had a cold in about that long which is proof that a healthy diet improves the immune system.
Excellent movie! I think it should be recommended for showing in high schools etc. as an educational tool and for opening up minds to make more thoughtful choices.
I'm also in the middle of reading the "Omnivores Dilemma" written by the man that produced Food Inc. (Pollan) It sure makes you think more deeply about what we're putting into our mouths and the impact on our health and planet.
Can't say that I've quit eating meat altogether (my kids just wouldn't be into being complete vegetarians), but I definitely eat less and make better choices about where/how the meat I'm chosing to buy is produced.

Clongirl check out "Eating Animals". It is an excellent new book about a new father that does a lot of introspection regarding what he eats and what his new son will eat.
I'm a big fan of this movie. In fact I own 3 purchased copies of the DVD. But I'm amazed at how many people do not want to know what the movie exposes about the food industry. A lot of people prefer to stay in the dark.
I saw the documentary the other day. I was completely appalled not only for the diseased animals but for the way they treat the workers as well. After watching it there are many companies that will never see my money again. I now want to start my road to going veg. I just can't seem to throw out what I've already bought and not use it- I hate to waste, so I'm going to finish what I have in the house and replace it with as much local product and organic product as my budget will allow.
I really suggest going to a farm and see for yourself rather than what these guys show. I'm not a fan of some of the idiots in the film, they give the industry a bad name, but don't judge an entire industry over this movie.
This movie is great. It didn't change me into a vegetarian, but instead made me a lot more informed when I do buy meats and nearly every food product. I think that this movie does not encourage becoming a vegan or vegetarian. In fact, the author is not a vegetarian. It just should inspire people to make better choices when it comes to buying foods wherever they choose to. There are good farms out there, but you have to be willing to pay more for their products and demand that your local stores carry products from responsible sources. My grocery budget has increased since watching the movie but I am happy for that.
