I wasn't even aware that they were doing this. Then again they weren't charging to walk or ride a bike at the Harbor. Maybe that will be next though. We just are not used to paying for parking in Ventura. I know that they have done it for years now down in Port Hueneme at the beach. Still I am not too used to the concept. Even over in Oxnard at the state beach they put in the pay parking ticket machines but have yet to enforce the program as of yet.

I've never yet been asked to pay to park at the Harbor. If they want to keep away possible revenue for the shops this is a good way to do it!

One of the things I loved when I returned to the States was that I didn't have to pay to park everywhere I went. As Crystal can verify, parking a car in the UK can be frustrating and VERY expensive. We once paid the equivalent of $50 to park for 4 hours in London over near Harley Street.

Just a few days ago I had a major psychotic rant on Twitter about the cost of driivng and parking here in London.. Since I have returned to the UK I have rfused to pay ALL my parking fines and don't feel guilty about anything. Good luck to them tracking me down, because they never will

What the government does here is nothing short of legalized organized crime. From what I read on VCS, seems like the people of Ventura aren't wimpy assed push overs like the folks in London.

And what about those anti-smog fees you have to pay to drive on certain roadways into and out of London? Plus, the LICENSE to park before you even get a parking spot, which you then have to pay for? Its CRAZY!

What really narked me was having to pay to park at the hospital, even in the A&E section! It was the equivalent of $5 an hour when I left Newcastle.
