I'm wondering if there is any "Techie"-type who can answer a question about TV reception here in Santa Barbara. We've got Cox-naturally-and I'm wondering if we really "need" any "service". Is there any way we could get KNBC-4 programs instead of SLO (CH6)? Also KABC-7 (ABC) L.A. instead of KEYT-3 S.B. KTLA-5 L.A. was cancelled by Cox up here. Is there any way to get those channels/stations without cable/satellite ?
Thanks

Here is something that may help:

25 Ways To Watch TV and Movies Online Without Cable - Watch on Set Top Boxes and Game Consoles | PCMag.com

One solution is ABC.com for viewing current shows and those that were fillmed last season.

My parents have been using a Roku box for a few years and like it. Then again newer TV's are set up so that you may not need the Roku box.

The deal with many new TV's is that they are not only cable ready but also internet ready allowing you to get your content from the internet and severing your ties with the cable company. You could spend some time visiting City Data and then decide that you want to watch your favorite show. One benefit with the online set up is you get to watch on your time.

I am not sure about the LA channels although you could go to there web sites to see about an online feed.
