Is there a place in the county where I can just drop off paper, plastic and glass? I don't care for the CRV.

You can recycle it curbside in your container. If that's not possible because you have too much, then depending on what city you live, you can take it to the transfer locations: Sperry Drive, Ventura; Del Norte Blvd. in Oxnard. I know that the Oxnard location will pay you by weight for paper and glass. Not sure about the location on Sperry.

Ok, thanks. I also learned that the T.O. library has a battery recycling bin near it's entrance.

If you're near Ventura, the Von's parking lot (close to Subway) on Harbor near Seaward has a recycling collection area. It appears to be a truck/trailer type set up. It is pretty active but I don't know all the details.
