Upstate NY is prettier yet though.

In any event scenery can't make up for low-wage, high-cost equation ,for most people anyway.

VT is different from NY,you have seen it in person so you know. visiting and exploring is a good way to narrow your focus. we are tourist friendly and it is a greast role to play. start at the state website and plan a good explore/vacation. a rental car is a must. jobs are best pursued through craigslist and Seven Days [local weekly]. $1000 will get you a nice place to live, far better than 5th floor walkup. You are lucky, we did not used to let Yankee fans across the State Lines.

LOL! Even I (who pays attention to no sports whatsoever) can't help but notice Vermont's antipathy toward the Yankees. Yet folks must be getting more tolerant because in Rutland we actually see Yankees banners on some homes -- unvandalized.

Indeed it is, much more snobbish than upstate NY.

It will.
Figure on making about $400 or so a week in the Burlington area.
That leaves you with $200 a month.
Good luck.
