Joe Citro's radio commentaries and books are delightful, ...even for those of us who don't believe in ghosts etc.

I have a collection of cards so I can refer trustworthy people when clients and customers ask. I'm often asked for referrals to real estate attorneys, mortgage bankers, professional property inspectors, contractors, lead and asbestos abatement specialists, tax accountants and the like. A couple of years ago I attended a closing and met a buyer - a client of the other agent in the transaction - who said he specialised in "troubled atmosphere and the like". I asked him for a card because I wasn't sure what he meant. His card featured a dragon and the word "Geomancer". I said "are you a ghost buster"? He allowed as how he was, essentially.

Many people consult Feng Shui practitioners. I'm not one of them, I'm a congenital skeptic. But now if somebody wants a referral to somebody who can ask "spirits" to leave a house ...I have a card. I wonder what sort of disclaimer I'd want to use...

~Yes. you're correct. There's a bridge in Stowe, Vermont, called Emilys' Bridge. It's believed that in the 1800's this woman was supposed to meet her soul mate at the bridge at a certain time n day so they could run away n get married or something. He never show'd so she hung herself. But there are like three different stories to what happened n why. But now I know she is said to hate men. In the past, shortly after her death, horse carriages with men on them, n later in the years, cars with men driving them have gotten scratched n their perfectly good running cars end up breaking down. I went on the bridge one time when I wasn't quite fermilliar with Stowe n theses three guys, (customers, after I had picked them up.) they had told me to take a short cut. When we had a approached the bridge, I was thinking to myself, "Oh how wonderful, I am crossing Emily's Bridge with three men in this cab with me.."
