Can you shed light on the prevelence of HOA's in, specifically, the Brattleboro and Burlington areas? (surrounding towns included) - Thanks!

Get more rural and you won't find many of those abominations.

Are you saying they dominate the city limits? Thanks for the help.

They're more present closer to the city in the sprawl.

I'm not aware of HOA prevalence in Burlington or Brattleboro. Can you give some examples?

The info. I have is partly word of mouth, from friends, and from people who've done construction there. In following real estate listings (primarily land) I've noticed more with "restrictions" and "associations" in those more crowded, sprawly sort of areas.

There's a brief reference in this article to them: Hazmat team investigates stinky South Burlington home - WCAX.COM Local Vermont News, Weather and Sports-

I've found a few through the Google. But it doesn't look like it's packed with them, yay!

Most of the subdivisions and condo complexes in the Burlington area have them. I am most familiar with South Burlington so if you have questions about a specific development there I might be able to help.

Typically, whenever you have a mult-unit development you will have HOA for the Association. Typically very friendly and accomodating but due diligence is required.
