First off. Just spent the day riding around VT on my motorcycle and spending the night in St. Johnsbury. The damage I saw today from Rutland on was just unbelievable. I hope the state recovers quickly and I'm trying to spend a little tourist money while I'm here.

That said. I've heard jokingly over the years that all the liberals in VT drive a Subaru. I must have seen more Subaru's today then I've seen in the last year in my home state in Va. Has Subaru ever looked into this? It has to be true. And no, I am most certainly not picking on anyone who may have liberal tendencies and this is not a political post. Just having fun with the Subaru issue.

Lots of Honda CRVs out there as well. People get 'em 'cause the kick arse in the snow.

I have one (a CRV). With snow tires it kicks butt in the snow.

Getting a Subaru Forester... It handles snow country back roads and rain very well.

Subaru should look into it. Might be a good marketing issue. Maybe it already is?

In Brattleboro, which may be the most "liberal" town in Vermont, every other car seems to be a Subaru. Lots of Foresters and Outbacks. A fair number of Imprezas. Fewer Legacys and Tribecas.

Also, there are lots of Toyota Rav4's, Honda CR-Vs, Toyota Priuses and Audis.

There are also other Toyotas, Hondas, Volvos, Jeeps and American cars. I've seen lots of Chevys and Fords. I've even seen several Chrysler Cruisers, which suprised me.

And I've seen a lot of those really square wagons. like the Honda Element and the Scions.

What I don't see too many of are Mazdas and Nissans. I don't know why. They are supposed to be good cars. I have a Nissan Sentra and I've been very happy with it.

That's all I can think of right now, except to say that Subaru Outbacks, Foresters and Imprezas are supposed to be excellent winter cars. And they are much more affordable than Audis.
