I wouldnt say totally ruined, but Mitch McConnell is trying. As for the other stuff, I find lots of areas in KY very similar to VT. There are five or so major metro areas and 20 minutes outside of any of those areas is raw rural wilderness just like VT. For instance, the Mammoth Cave area could pass for any VT state park.
I have many fond memories of Vermont and will visit again when I can. But, living there was much different than I expected. The vision I had was very different than the reality. All the stuff I moved to VT for and never got, I found in KY. Not meant to be a slam, just a personal opinion
Everyone has 'their' place, I was just lucky enough to find a few

Also, with the climate getting warmer many of the lower latitude agriculture areas are facing much longer drought cycles and water shortages. That is a topic for a different thread.
Actually, if you go back far enough in time, we're all from Africa and are a pretty adaptable bunch of primates.

amen to that.
Also, if you're stuck in a place you hate (and it is because of a job) you're only in your 20's... you can change careers. I find it VERY hard to believe that there is any career that can ONLY be done in the Burlington Essex area of VT. What is the job? Why is it ONLY possible to do there?

Also, if you absolutely can't move out of state, are you really ready to be stuck in a place you hate until you die? That's so silly. If you hated it that much, you would get out.

Well, it seems you might be missing the tremendous opportunity that has fallen into your lap. You spend "too much time with people 2-3 times older than you".....Guess what? They have kids and grandkids. Alas, you have been handed a plethora of options and opportunities for meeting people your age but are not seeing it for what it is. Voila! Life is usually pretty simple if you acknowledge what you have been given and it's usually in the most offhanded way.

I'm not really into religion. It was just an example.

I am aware of gaming, I tried gaming with people however like I said, they're around 20 years older than me, so it's not that fun. There's only 1 public gaming store in Burlington at least and it's been a hole since the store changed owners.

I work full time, so volunteering isn't an option.

I spend way too much time with people double/triple my age. I am sick of it.

If absolutely nothing excites you, then depression is a real possibilty. Nothing to be ashamed of and it would be wise to talk to a doctor. It's especially common in young adults and very treatable. Good luck!
I would join a walking, hiking, running or bicycling meetup group before the gym crowd. Those muscle heads can be very conceited as I found out long ago. Anyways, I do agree with this poster that you have to decide on something. How about movies, chess, conversation?

Considering the original post was almost 2 years ago and he's not been active since. It's possible that he's moved on to greener pastures?

Take up a winter sport you've never tried before, what I'd like to do is learn how to snowboard!
