Weather definetly plays a role in leaf color and drop.

Around here there were some trees changing colors end of August but that was heat stress related (night time lows stayed very warm and daytime was very muggy all the time)

So while summer weather plays a role I think the night time temps in September play a bigger role.

We need those cool nights and decent moisture to get that nice color. All I know is, last year leaves were still on the trees end of November. That was a crazy late drop.

Then this year they bloomed early because of the warm winter. So looks like a normal (maybe early) drop this fall.

I was out by Hardwick and Greenboro Bend in (or by) the Northeast Kingdom this morning. I won't even attempt to call a time frame for peak, but the colors I saw were very vibrant. To me, a good foliage has that really fiery red and orange, and that's what I saw today.

It's about the same here so I'm figuring peak the first week in October? which is the norm unless we get wind rain ect.

It's changing pretty fast here in the NEK. I snapped this around 5:30 pm today in North Troy.

The colors here in the MRV are starting to look really nice. The gaps are very vibrant. The reds are just starting to pop. These taken in the last few days.
