Looked through some of the comments to the story/article, too.

Have no family in the state, but am originally from Maine & am used to this sort of climate (weather, culture, political stripe).
Have now spent more years living here than any previous location. Despite the drawbacks (everywhere has tradeoffs), I'm satisfied with my choice.
