I noticed Vermonters are overly politically correct. It's extremely uncomfortable, and it validates why I've always felt political correctness was thinly veiled racism. I hope the OP takes his two degrees and moves somewhere he can find proper employment and be appreciated.

My thanks to gtfovt for sharing the term microaggressions because I found this awesome site.

LOL! "I noticed Vermonters are overly politically correct."

Blacks are:

Poles are:
Germans are:

You are using a 6" whitewash brush on a 16" x 20" canvas.

Vermonters do not all think or act the same way. The rock-ribbed multi-generational Vermonters tend more towards a "say little" conservatism where the few words said in conversation do not hint much at what lies behind the silence. It can be uncomfortable, but it isn't out of being PC. There is a world of difference between attitudes of transplants to the state and those with long roots, a world of difference between the Burlington area and parts of the NEK, and so on.
