Although this is a thread about drones and prospective police surveillance that morphed into talking about firearms, I would like to have the Federal Firearms Act repealed in its entirety. IMHO The Feds have not right or need to regulate firearms in any way shape of form.

I also believe they (the Feds) alos have no right or need to regulate remote controlled or eventually, autonomous, unmanned drones. Although there is a possibility of warrantless snooping by the police any evidence gathered would be inadmissible in a persecution (Yes, persecution not prosecution) of misbehavior by citizens. The principal advantage of using these devices, outside of the sheer fun, is aerial surveillance.

I was recently on a vacation in New Mexico and drove a lot of miles over unfenced open range. The range occupies huge areas. I though that using a long range remote or autonomous drone to track cattle as well as evaluate remote range quality. A drone could cover a lot more ground than a man on a horse or a 4 wheeler at less cost. Even eastern farmers could use these to observe crop quality. I do not see where government regulation would do any more then make beneficial use of drones overly complicate and expensive.

Bringing a silencer into VT and getting caught puts you at the mercy of what the local ATF and U.S attorney wants to prosecute, be it for political points or otherwise. That's not a good position to be in. It's why we need to repeal the state ban. It would make some people who don't like hearing gunfire happy too.

"It would make some people who don't like hearing gunfire happy too."

Let me rephrase that for you...

It would make some people who don't like hearing gunfire blissfully unaware and less likely to whinge and moan.

Yep, that is a huge part along with the HUGE concussion you get at indoor pistol ranges.

Having 6 others randomly shooting huge caliber guns right next to you in a tight enclosed space is not my happy place

archangel, while we agree, please be careful not to change my words when quoting me. I take my words and wording very seriously, to the point that moderators know that they can either delete a post of mine or leave it be, or I will go after them. My words are mine. I don't let folks come in and modify my weapons either.
