I moved to Essex Junction last week, and am still exploring the area. I have a couple if general questions for any of those who might be from the area.

Are there any really good burger places that are definitely worth going to?
Are there any interesting museums in Essex or the surrounding area?
And my lasts question, what football games does this area receive with basic cable? Is it the patriots?

You'll get the Patriots and the Giants on local TV.
Shelburne Farms is a nice place to visit as well.
Wish I could help with your burger question!

Burger Places - I wouldn't say these are must visit burger places, but they are pretty good

In Essex - On Tap at 5 Corners or Cody's Pub

There is a Five Guys on Shelburne Road in South Burlington

And the Classic Old Time Local Favorite - Al's French Fries on Williston Road in South Burlington

Al's uses frozen meat from Costco. For their menu. For a state so fervant about locally grown, and locally harvested, the popularity of Al's astounds me

Archie's Grill in Shelburne has good (local meat) burgers (and other food)-not sure its worth the drive from Essex Jct but if you are down that way check it out.

Yeah. Not a fan of Al's burgers but its better than the other national fast food chain options. I do like the fries. We go once a year or so before a hockey game with the kids since they like it!

Al's fries are alright. Normally get them at the fair. Burgers - nooooooooooooooo.

On Tap is good. Only others that were mentioned here that I've tried were five guys and Al's, outta those definitely On Tap is better. Haven't tried Archie's Grill or the other ones.

Also one that was not yet mentioned that I think has decent burgers is sweetwaters on Church St.

I'm sure there's more they are just not coming to mind at the moment.

Welcome.

You are nearly at the epicenter of burger heaven. Cody's Irish Pub in Essex has what I consider the second-best burger I've had in my life. And I'm a man who loves a good burger!

Ditto what was said above about Al's...overrated place serving reconstituted frozen food, and I can't understand why people go there.

I used to like the burgers at the Essex Inn, hopefully they're still pretty good.
