I am a traveling nurse, just got a job in Berlin VT for 3 to 6 months. Can anyone suggest any housing leads?

1. It is appears hard to find housing in Vermont. Am I correct?
2. Do i have better luck looking for room/apartment in Burlington and commute to work?

Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

It can be pretty tough finding housing in Central Vermont. You might try a site called Front Porch Forum and post in the forums for Montpelier, Berlin, Plainfield, Marshfield, Waterbury, and Northfield and see what you come up with. Front Porch Forum

Burlington is a bit more of a hike, but if, as I suspect, you have a temp job at VPCH the hospital is just off the Interstate, so that might make it feasible.

Good luck.

Check with local vacation rental agencies as well...we used to make our condo available for longer term rentals for nurses, and I'm sure there are other owners who do the same.

Burlington would be more expensive so it may be worth the effort to look for something closer to Berlin.

Try lazy pear apartments. It's right in Montpelier, and looks like they have openings soon.

Or there may be places like this willing to let you stay for 3-6 months. For example this place is $600 a month. https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/5445578?s=ysiH

The Lazy Pear is very close to downtown and only about ten minutes from the hospital, so that would be a workable choice. Even if you don't have a car there's regular bus service from downtown.
