I've tried tripadvisor and roadtrippers and I'm coming up empty. We're driving from Boston to Quebec City, leaving on July 1 and looking for a place around halfway to stop that has something cool for kids (age 9 and 10) to do. Weather isn't looking good for July 1 so it would probably need to be indoors.

Halfway-ish seems to be between St. Johnsbury, VT and Sherbroook, Quebec. All I found was a copper mine near Sherbrook that really didn't seem all that interesting.

FWIW, my Mom passed in March and was born and raised in St. Johnsbury, so for me personally, if there is anything to see close to St. J, that's a huge bonus. I vaguely recall visiting her grandma there when I was 5 or 6, she lived in a home adjacent to a small dam of some sort. I wonder if her home still stands, though I likely couldn't ever find it. All I remember was a porch on the front of the house and the dam

The dog chapel is a small, but interesting place...if you like dogs, of course.

yeah, all set, thanks . We may just add an hour onto the trip and go via Burlington. We have to come back through Burlington so were trying to find something different, but I can't find squat that will keep the kids occupied for a whole afternoon on a rainy day.

I think I remember that copper mine. In operation it had killed all the trees for miles around. Pretty nasty place.

You could find the house by doing a search of the census records to find where she lived. You might find that, and going there and asking around highly rewarding.

The water park at Jay is a great place for kids. About 30 minutes off I-91 at exit 26. In St. Johnsbury check out the Fairbanks Museum and Planetarium on Main Street at exit 21.

Check this out. It's about half an hour from Sherbrooke and not far from A-55 (which is I-91 in Quebec).

Have a look at Foresta Lumina.

My nephews went here and thought it was awesome. I might check it out with my family this summer.

Thanks all, I'll check out that last recommendation but I think we have a winner with the water park. That's perfect and almost exactly halfway to QC
