Update: They wanted another phone interview before agreeing to fly me out. I had another phone interview with the Mill Manager and I believe we tied up loose ends. I believe they will fly me out. I still feel really good overall. Hopefully I will have a new home soon

For rentals contact Bob Lyons who also manages the Hooker-Dunham Building at 139 Main St. He has an office upstairs and also manages rentals in the area.

The big problem I am noticing is that many of these rentals are anti-cat, which doesn't work for us because we have two sweet kitties.

Sorry no sympathy on that one. I would not rent you my house with cats. There is always camping.

I understand why. Cats are risky and can tear apart furniture and carpet. I am sure we will find something.

There are a lot of mice and squirrels in the country and rats near the river. Most of my neighbors have cats. I have one at my place of business. We don't have a cat and do have mice from time to time.

Don't worry, you will find a place that accepts cats. I have had to rent many times (including my present situation) and have found overall that dogs are the biggest barrier to securing a rental. I have rarely run into a problem with landlords not accepting cats.

I am not all that concerned. It was just interesting to note in my small amount of research. I will concern myself much more when I actually get and accept an offer.
