I got both of our vehicles inspected, $50 each. Not a big deal for me bit this is going to be a problem for low income folks with older vehicles. The State should know this after needing to do those amnesties for people to get their driver's licenses reinstated on account people couldn't afford to pay their tickets.

my nephew owns an inspection station, from what he has been told so far from Montpelier the car gets plugged into their provided computer, the diagnostics run, if it passes a sticker is printed out, if it fails it prints out a FAIL sticker, you have X number of days to get the problems fixed and try again. another fail and locks that VIN out , car is parked until it passes.

He is expecting check engine lights to be the biggest problem and O2 sensors, he is telling regular customers of his to bring their cars in 3 days at least ahead of time to make sure they are going to pass the computer diagnostic because once the computer is plugged in to the car its a PASS or FAIL, no try again, or hang on let me try this....

of the 18 states that do inspections, all lib Tard states big surprise, the democrat run ones stick it to the little guy, but they keep electing them so they must like getting screwed over

Typical ignorant comment. I guess you consider Texas, Utah, North Carolina, Virginia, and New Hampshire (not to mention Vermont in the 1960's) "lib Tard states"? Wait--did I forget Mississippi and Louisiana?

Maybe if you don't know what you're talking about you just shouldn't say anything.

I get you want safe cars on the road, but it's very heavy handed compared to other states. But based on my interactions thus far with Vermont DMV, they are pretty uptight. They haven't made a good impression to be honest.

During this legislative session there has been a fair bit of resistance to the changes, and I think they just adopted a year's delay. Much of the opposition has come from liberal Democrats, who are concerned with lower income people and the costs they will have to face to bring the only cars they can afford into compliance.

Glad someone is looking out for the little guy, it's never the Cons.
