I am looking for a scenic but comfortable inn in Vermont middle of April for a 2 days stay. I like Nature yet I also like comfort...any suggestions are appreciated. Near a lake would be good.

Thank you!

Hi, try the Inn at Water's Edge or the Echo Lake Inn (Ludlow VT); both are beautiful..Inn at Water's Edge is right on the lake and Echo Lake Inn across the street...close to Okemo...can take a meandering drive up Rte 100N towards Killington...nice area...and of course, if you stay at either place, then meander down 100S towards Ludlow and stop at the Green Mt. Sugar House...may be a semi tourist place but it's worth the stop and the maple products...and not sure if they serve it now but if so, grab a maple creamee...they are super...have fun!

I have passed there on many occasions and I've always thought it looked like a great place to stay.

You do realize that in mid-April many Vermont lakes/ponds might still be frozen over depending on the weather, of course.

Hi, although I believe we are having more, dare I say it! snow tonight...but not much..it is supposed to be hitting the upper 40's by the end of the week...perhaps there will be patches of lakes/ponds being "iceless"...regardless, the inns around the lakes are beautiful. There is also the Castle in Cavendish...you can find it at castle inn and spa on line...

Enjoy your stay!
