I am moving out of Burlington and I have two children, one in first grade and one going into 6th grade. Just wondering if anyone knew about the schools there, also good neighborhoods, general information. Thanks!

Really there are very few bad neighborhoods in the Brattleboro area. Stay away from downtown, Eliot and Canal Streets (although these are primarily made up of apartments, not single family homes) and you'll be fine.

The surrounding towns of Guilford, Dummerston and Putney will offer you some wonderful areas in which to raise children and the entire area in general is very safe.

The options for schools for younger children are varied, St. Michael's school is well regarded but I believe it's a private school and as such, requires tuition. I don't have children so I can't specifically address that but if you'd like I can ask my friends who do and get you more information.

Feel free to private mail me if you wish.
