I currently go to school for dental assisting, the laws here are a lot less strict on what a DA can and cannot do. Basically, we can do anything we want with little to no training at all, if we can find a job anyways. Still, I am going to school, will graduate in May, and intend to become certified. My biggest question is, are there any DA's or anyone in the dental field on this board who could tell me a little bit about how it is to work in Burlington, how difficult it was to find your position ( I know, the economy and all, but I mean how tough the doctor was or is on you, etc ), and a little bit more about the laws and regulations in the state.

When I graduate, I will already be registered in my state and have my radiology cert, nitrous oxide, and sealant placement, if that helps with answering my questions.

Thanks a lot!!

My guess would be an above average wage, but hardly enough to live on in Burlington. Would you consider Maine?

My wife was working part time as a DA for about $16-18 an hour south of Burlington this summer

Above average wage? In VT?

VT wages are low, cost of living is very high.
I'm not in the dental field, so I can't speak specifically to dental assisting wages, but if they're in line with the rest of the state, they're low.
