Seems like most of the teenagers are stoners or wanna be stoners...a big 'dude' population. No much to do, tolerance of drugs=stoners.

Lots of pedophiles- same as drugs it is under enforced and those people know it. VT pleads down all sorts of things so the crime numbers look better than the reality.

I've been gone almost 16 years but cow tipping was big back when I wore a younger mans clothes.
I can't believe I've been gone 16 years. Oh, well.

There's a state criminal information center, and they can provide a lot more stats than I have at my fingertips. Here's the link: VERMONT CRIMINAL INFORMATION CENTER (http://www.dps.state.vt.us/cjs/vcic.htm - broken link) Plus, going to their site and having some information will show that you're taking it seriously.

I believe 2009 was the lowest year for homicides in many years--I think we were under ten for the year.

Good luck.

I didn't, but I remember reading that the count of murders in 2009 was very low. Here's a link: Vermont's murder rate hits lowpoint in 2009: Times Argus Online
