Whats the deal with the personalized license plates up here? Are they cheap to get? It seems just about every car I see has one, LOL. They're fun to read and makes me curious about the driver and why he/she chose it.

I don't think too many people have them, maybe you just happened to notice them. They do make you wonder about the driver... sometimes it's fun trying to figure out what they're even saying! I think they're an extra $30 a year, in addition to the $60 registration fee.

I agree. I have no numbers on this but I think Vermont has the most personalized plates of any other place I have lived/been. I think it's the cheap price as I was told other states charge much more.

Vermont does seem to have a high # of personalized plates, but my vote goes for NH. It seems like every other car has one.

That's what I figured but wasn't really sure. I'd put one on my car but well, I don't like my car enough to personalize it, hehe. Maybe on my next one.

Hi there,
I have a personalized plate and I got it because I was selling a product so I wanted people to recognize my car and plate and hopefully remember it when they saw the product! It isn't cheap to have a plate like this, I just paid $195.00 for a 2 year car registration renewal but to me it is worth it. It is kind of fun to have but if the price keeps going up I am going to have to get regular plates and hang them on my wall!

I used to think VT had a high ratio of personalized plates.... and then I moved to Virginia I learned recently that Virginia has the 2nd highest concentration of personalized plates, behind only Connecticut. CT and VA have absolutely no fees associated with personalized plates. VT has a $30 fee which is lower than most states.
