As a lifelong gamer since the first Nintendo system came out i've lately been having some difficulty finishing games or keeping interest alive in some games.
Cases in point the last Metroid game, i got to a point that i just couldnt defeat a boss to go further on in the game, after trying 20+ times to beat the boss i finally gave up,end of game.
Another case in point is the new Zelda game i'm stuck at the water temple boss, again after 20 try's i've lost interest in the game even though i havent even got halfway through it yet, another end of game.
.as a result i've kinda lost interest in video games in general as you pay $50 or so for the game then find its impossible to finish.
Not saying that they should make all games super easy but as i paid good money for the game if i do come to an impassable area of a game there should be some provision to either bypass the area or adjust the level of difficulty to a level that keeps me moving through the game..
What do others do when confronted with a challenge in a game thats impossible to get through?
Rarely these days have I found a game that is impossible with some advice from the tubes. Granted, sometimes even with advice a boss/game can be tricky. And, of course, advice isn't going to help much a game like Dark Souls.
Most games on PS3 and XBox allow you to adjust the difficulty, I guess Zelda doesn't?
I guess I'm used to purposely playing ridiculously hard games (Touhou, Kaizo Mario, etc) but I don't find very many current "mainstream" games that are actually difficult. And if somehow I magically get stuck because I go brain-dead, that's why GameFAQ's exists.
I've done the Google and Youtube help sites and videos to no avail, i guess old age is starting to rob me of my manual dexterity and its time to hang up the controller, unfortunate,it was a fun ride..

Funny you say that, I'm over 40 and have found that my dexterity has gotten better.
