I do like it...my hubby and I play together. I watched hubby play warcraft 3 and although wow is different from warcraft 3, the lore goes together and I just love playing the game. Hubby's been playing for a few years now whereas I just started in December 2007. Great game.

world of waracft from what i understand is similar to warcaft.
i myself play wow and have been playing for about 2 yrs. as a note, it's HIGHLY addictive and you will find yourself playing for hours before you know it...
you have 2 "teams" you can chose, either alliance (the good guys) or horde (boo!! the bad guys). Then you have diff. races and classes to chose from. For example...you can have an allicance night elf druid, or a human priest, or a gnome mage...they have an expansion coming out in Nov so there will be a new class as well, but you would need to have @ least one lvl 55 per acct to have the new character...
there are different realms you can create your char in, either PvE (player vs envoirment where you can not fight the other members) or PvP (player vs player where you are allowed to fight the other members)
there are over 7 million players world wide, you can chat w/ people in the game, there are guilds...i've made tons of friends from all over the place through this game.
The game i believe is $40 + another $30 for the BC exapnsion, + either about $15 per month or you can buy a prepaid (not too familiar w/ the prepaid)
Hope this helped good luck...
i'm on a PvP server-wildhammer US 70 Night Elf Hunter-Kimikio. Look me up if u decide to play
If you wanna do the MMORPG thing, go with Guild Wars. You pay once up front for the license to run 4 character builds (can't play them at the same time) and you never have to pay again. Granted they do come out with expansions that add significantly to the PvE world and would be recommended but you'll still come out hundreds of dollars ahead when compared with WOW.
stay away from mmorpgs. i played an assassin in everquest 2 (evercrack ) for a year, very addictive. getting kicked from my guild was the best thing that happened to me
