My generation was raised on the Atari, so having been exposed to it for most of my life I'm used to having gaming systems around.
DH too. He's 2 yrs younger than me but I remember teasing him when the Wii came out and he wanted one so bad. "What are you, 12 years old?" lol
What he didn't know is that I got him one, on launch day, as a christmas present

My husband and I have been married 10 years in September. During that time, he's owned the original Nintendo system (I loved Mario), original Playstation, Playstation 2, and XBox 360 (with hard drive). He didn't wait on any of them And there are certain games he has to have the day they come out (Madden, NCAA, MLB). Our son is the same way. He has a 360 of his own and wants a Wii for Christmas. The only reason I'm leaning towards going along with getting the Wii is b/c I want the Wii Fit for myself

We probably will. He's so picky. All he plays with are video games and wrestling figures! Not a lot of options. And I could definitely lose a few pounds (or 20 or 30.....)
LOL. Funny thing is that I totally wasn't a nerd in high school! I was more of a stoner/grunge-head type - ya know, complete with the ripped jeans, flannel shirt & Doc Martens. But now I'm a librarian who plays video games, so I guess I've morphed into a nerd in my "old" age... if you ignore my tattoos and piercings, that is.
I get skooled by my mom on most the games i have...
LOL... my mom was a big-time gamer in the '80s, and actually won a Ms Pac-Man contest at the local arcade. She also had her name in Game Pro magazine, for scoring over 4 million on Tetris! She's almost 60 now, and mostly sticks to real poker and online word games (like bookworm & boggle). If I have kids, I fully plan to kick their butts at any video game.
My grandfather, who is in his late 70's now, was told by his doctor a few years back to try some video games to help keep his reflexes sharp and work on his hand/eye coordination. He started with some of the Mario/Sonic type games and now he's all into it. He owns and has played to the end every Tomb Raider game. Just last week he got a Wii so he could bowl
