The story behind it is that when I was about 4 years old I went to a cousin's house and he was playing the game. I had never seen such a device and looked interesting. I asked him to play and he refused with a smile. I kept asking him until I cried. My parents and uncles decided to shut it down so we would not fight to play it. I have no idea why I remember something that happened so long ago but any way.
I asked Santa for a Nintendo that year and I got it. After getting alot of games I did not like, due to the fact that I did not know the name of the game I had originally liked, I finally got a copy of The Legend of Zelda in 1991. After I beat the game I did not play video games again until Final Fantasy 7. I still blame Zelda for my Video Game Hobby.
Space invaders arcade game - I think EPYX boxing and King's quest on the PC Jr. were the first games I REALLY got into as home games. I had Atari 2600 and Intellivision, but I liked PC games more.
Pong, circa 1975? - the old game machine with only one game for a raw basic tennis-type experience - two white line blips that represent paddles on opposite sides of the screen, another round white blip that represented the balls, against a black screen. Controller was just a swivel that you turned to operate the "paddle" blip.
I played as much Super Mario, Metroid and Duck Hunt as every other 80's kid but Nintendo never captivated me as much as PC games did. In fact, I only switched to consoles after XBOX 360 came out.
