I may be moving for a long stay and these questions came to mind.

What are the most available banks with ATMs?
Is there a good bicycle shop?
What are the roads like for cyclists?

BB&T has about four or five branches. Bank of Clarke County and Wachovia are also well represented.

Re bike paths, it's fairly "bikeable"; there is a trail which will eventually circle the town. Route 11 (Valley Avenue) has a bike lane. There is a very nice bicycle shop in Creekside Shopping Center.

Good luck.

FYI if you bank with BoA, the closest branch is about 30 minutes away in Woodstock....

I am with Wachovia and have had no problems. Several branches here.

There is also United Bank in downtown/historic district. Not sure about other branch locations in the city.
