Just wondering what the % is and what is/isn't taxed.

As far as I know all products and many services are taxed in VA. In some places, like Arlington, they even charge more tax on things like restaurant foods. I think it's like 8% here.

I believe it's a flat 5% state tax on almost everything, and then the local counties and such can add onto that with their own taxes. I was supprised when I went to a mcdonalds here in glen allen, and the tax there was only 5%, where-as in Fredericksburg, it would have been 8%.
