Considering I don't even know what you're talking about, my answer is going to have to be "no".

I grew up in Danville and unless this something new, I've never heard of it. My best friend still lives near Danville and has never mentioned something like this. I'll have to ask her. Sounds strange though.

Supposedly, there is a place in Bedford, VA called the 7 Gates of Hell, and its legend has been passed down by many locals... Its a house located on a hill, and there are 7 black ironed gates going up the hill. The story behind the house is back in the 1900's, there was a family that went insane there and went on a killing spree of all african american slaves. They hung them in the woods, off the back porch, and torchured them in the basement. In the 1930's supposedly the Knights of Columbus would meet there and killed several more.

People who have been brave enough to venture in usually dont make it pass the 5th gate. I know that you have to walk through the woods to get to the house, but on Halloween the gates are always open. My brother and his friends went on halloween night and when he came back, he was so scared he didnt want to talk about it and wouldn't tell me where it was. I've heard that it is supposedly off of Route 666 in Catawba VA going towards Smith Mountain Lake..

Interesting. But why ask Danville residents about it if it's in Bedford?

Story is pretty silly- probably high school gossip. The only Rt 666 in Bedford County is in Forest, and it doesn't go near Catawba. Catawba is an hour southwest of Bedford County.
