Which state do you get more for your money to live in. Lower taxes affordable housing, public transportation, diverse neighborhoods etc. Please give some diverse neighborhoods in Virginia.

I would have to say Virginia is the better of two. Most of the criteria though depends on what area you are considering. I have not lived in Maryland but have always heard that the tax rates are very high. Diverse neighborhoods are most likely found in Northern Virginia & Hampton Roads (Norfolk/Va Beach) it really depends how your defining diversity.

I would say diversity is when one race is not dominating a particular area. It is a mixture of black, white, hispanic, asian..etc. I want to feel comfortable where I live.

Maryland has more diverse neighbooroods, even in their suburbs. But since you said Lower taxes, that would point to Virginia.

[SIZE=2]I definitely agree with you. Prince Georges county, MD is more black than white but Montgomery has a big mix of every color. As for lower taxes, VA is the place however it doesn't mean cost of living is lower than Maryland; only taxes.

I think it depends on what part of Va you are speaking of. For example: there is no way I could live in Maryland with all the extras I have now on the $32k salary I earn in Roanoke. But the same can be said for Northern Va. ie: Fairfax. Va. is a very nice state and has a lot to offer. One side of the state is totally different than the other!!
