Please help my son and I are looking to relocate from NC to Virginia preferrably later this year. I am looking to be close to Virginia Beach like a hr or two away. I just graduated from college with elementary education and have a three year old son. I am looking for an area where the crime is low and they pay for decent for teachers. Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just FYI, anything within about an hour of Virginia Beach is very expensive to buy or rent a home in.
We almost had to move there for a job last year and I was SO relieved another job came open elsewhere once I had visited and seen how little we could afford.
I think you'd do much better financially in the Roanoke area. In particular, look at the little city of Salem
