I am a single male in my late 20's and still very into dating scene. I like going to music festivals, museums, and restaurants during the days, and like to party occasionally in nightclub and lounges at night.

I would like to live in Washington DC, but commute is too far to work and I heard commute on I-95 is horrible. So, I am looking for a place between Fredericksburg and Washington DC. Where would you guys recommend? Thank you .

Dumfries, definitely. Maybe Triangle...... sorry, just kidding I would have to say Springfield/Franconia. Right in the middle. Been a few years since I was up there but it was convenient.

Dc is too far. Stay in fredericksburg, or the dumfries, stafford area.

Would your job be able to support you living in NOVA? Salaries in my field are about the same in Fredericksburg as they are in Richmond. At the end of the day DC is less than an hour away.

How often are you going to participate in the nightlife? I think quiet neighborhood and convenience to DC nightlife is a difficult combination.

If you are somewhere like Dale City, you're just commuting one way or the other all the time.

Personally, I'd choose Fredericksburg, and make the mandatory 5 days a week commute into a breeze! Than try to network and get to know people in DC, and find a way to get up there on weekends.

If you are in Dale City and it takes you 45 minutes to get into DC for nightlife, and 45 minutes to get into work everyday....you'll probably be tired so much of the time, you won't even feel like going into DC on your time off.

Not only that, but I can't help but think that Fredericksburg would be more interesting than Dale City for the nights when you don't feel like trooping all the way into DC for the nightlife.

Woodbridge, there is a few nightlife options and Potomac mills mall is good place to pick up chicks, since you stated that you are single.
