It would be helpful for you to specify the size community you want and what type of work your are interested in...

What type of "job market" are you looking at? How do you define affordable?

I would definately look towards SW Virginia.

Roanoke Virginia's economy is driven by their booming healthcare industry, including many new assisted living communities. In fact, my mother worked in such assisted living developments until she decided to go into private nursing (which would be an option for you should you decide to go that route).

As far as customer service jobs, im not 100% sure, but I do think there is a job market for such a career in the area.

The cost of living in Roanoke is pretty low, but is creeping upwards. That being considered, there are plenty of surrounding areas that would be withing a very very short commute, should you decide to go that route.

I'm thinking in moving from NY to Virginia but I need to live in a place where I could afford the living cost. I have two kids, 16 & 5 yrs old. I am partially disabled and if I work, it would be a part-time job as a medical administrator. I also need to know if their are any medical admin. positions available in Virginia. I'm trying to give myself and my kids a better quality of life. Please help...
