From someone that has lived in Lexington their whole life and didn't relocate here, I can tell you that most people DO go to Roanoke or Lynchburg for medical care. The hospital here is a bandage hospital, if that makes sense. There's not much to do here and Lexington is growing way too fast because of people relocating. Nothing against you all personally. If I were you, I'd go somewhere else where there are things to do and good hospitals. I've said this before, but staying at a hotel and visiting here for a few days is VERY VERY DIFFERENT than living here.

I am checking out Findale myself, it is close to Clifton Forge, Roanoke and Lexington...all three areas I need to be near for various reasons! I am not suer of housing costs however, but from what I had researched it seems nice!

Default Lexington VA vs. KY locales

Hey Cattknap,

I don't even know if this thread is still "alive" but I stumbled across it online. I also fell in love with the Shenandoah region during numerous visits there, so I can understand your love of the region. It is rather remote, though, so your concerns about finding specialists or quality healthcare are definitely valid. I've also lived in Lexington and Louisville, KY, so if you have any questions about either of those places, please don't hesitate to ask!

Smile lexington questions

i noticed most people are writing about lexington here, so i am hoping i can ask some of you that live there some questions. we will be moving there this summer. my husband will be teaching at vmi, we have 2 children that will be in elementary school, and we are trying to find out where in town might be the best places to look for a home. i have tried the visitor's center, and everything else that comes up on searches but i am coming up pretty empty handed. we are also wanting to know what the town is like and what you think about it. how is the crime rate? things like that. is there a lexington forum? sorry if i am posting in the wrong place.

any and all help and info would be greatly appreciated.

thanks
