I just read a parents review on a school in Chesterfield and the parent wrote that her child had experienced racism while attending a high school in the county. I am not one to worry about such things however being a parent of two teens I wanted to ask about it.

I am considering moving to the area very seriously. I have compared the demographics on all levels to where we currently live. Thankfully they are very similiar. Myself being raised in New England can basically role with anything however we would like to be a part of a comunity where we are not snubbed.

Thanks in Advance

As a product of Chesterfield County Schools, I never noticed any racism while I was in the system. I imagine anything racial will only have improved since then..

There is racism everywhere. My daughter has been discriminated against for being white here in Williamsburg. Her class happens to be majority African-American and she suffers because of ignorance. All I can tell you is, there are ignorant people everywhere and I don't think there is any escape from that. Now, there are areas that are obviously worse than others and from what I know about Chesterfield is positive, but that does not mean that you will not run into racism. Good luck.
