Hello, I'm moving to (preferrably) northwest VA due to the proximity to my family in Martinsburg, WV.

I work at Lowe's so I'd still want to work at a Lowe's. Generally, they're everywhere. I would like to be within an hour (or a little over) from Martinsburg.

I want to be in a good safe community with lots of events. I'm looking for the small town feeling of eastern panhandle WV.

I love both pie and cake, but pie is the winner.

I'm looking to spend less than $1000 a month on a rental house.

If you go to the Northern Virginia subforum and search for Winchester, you'll find several threads with a lot of information.

Best of luck.

I don't know if you'll be able to find both safe and under 1k/mo in Northern VA. But you weren't specific on what you were looking for, so maybe? I mean, rooms, size, land, etc. I live in Spotsylvania which is pretty safe, but it's also about 1500/mo for a 3bd/2ba home. Apts are cheaper, but 'less safe' of course.
Good luck and you should love the place. Our drivers are nearly as nutty as in NJ, but the people can be a finer string. Whenever I go to Jersey, I'm always grateful to be back home.
