Fiance and I have been looking at a few states to move to. We have family in the Carolina's and Texas. Additionally, we have family and friend's in New England and still want to be close. Also family in Charlottesville Virginia so decided to move to Virginia. We're both finishing up nursing school probably rent first six month's until can find a house in Virigina. Don't know much about Virginia outside of Virginia Beach and Charlottesville. Any area's recommend for young couple looking to start family, with close proximity to the outdoors/hiking trails, and has hospital's/medical facilities in the surrounding are.

We were looking at Suffolk close to the water, has a few major cities near by, and close to the Outer Banks.

Any other recommendations appreciate the feedback.

IMO, where to live will be dictated on where you find work. Granted, an RN is a highly employable trade, but areas that support Veterans usually have more jobs to fill...due to the current condition of the VA Administration, and the vast numbers of Veterans seeking healthcare. VA Hospitals in Virginia are in Roanoke or Richmond, in northern NC, Durham. Check out usajobs. There are multiple VA Clinics throughout each state that do employ RN's, they are located in smaller cities and form a feeder system into the VA Hospital.
Using City-Data, you can find the hospitals in given areas...for instance; Suffolk:
