I mean a reckless driving by speed more than 80 mph, which is a class 1 misdemeanor. Will this goes in my driving record or criminal record. I've read it on a lot of Virginia lawyers' website, but some of them say it goes in criminal record and stays there forever and some said it goes in driving record therefore it cannot be expunged. I don't understand what they're trying to say here. I just can't believe that speeding more than 80 mph in Virginia is a class 1 misdemeanor. My record was completely clean until I got this reckless driving ticket. Now, I have a misdemeanor in my record. I'm feeling very bad and remorse right now.

In addition, can I go to Canada with a reckless driving conviction?

Am I a criminal now?

Can I rent an apartment with a reckless driving conviction?

Can I become a software engineer with a reckless driving conviction?

Can I hang around children with a reckless driving conviction?

Will this reckless driving ticket ruin my whole life?

I had a reckless driving conviction in 2009.
In addition, can I go to Canada with a reckless driving conviction?
I was and have been able to come and go from Canada without issue.

Am I a criminal now?
You will have a record in the General District Court that shows you have a reckless driving conviction. Does that make you a criminal in your eyes? It does not in mine or in those of my employers including DoD and intelligence entities granting me a top secret clearance.

Can I rent an apartment with a reckless driving conviction?
As a landlord and as a renter I have never had any issue with this. Your credit and previous rent paying record is much more important to me as a landlord.

Can I become a software engineer with a reckless driving conviction?
I work as a systems engineer currently and while this is not exact it is close in its nature, so I say yes.

Can I hang around children with a reckless driving conviction?
This is creepy but yes.

Will this reckless driving ticket ruin my whole life?
No but hanging around children without a good reason might.

You answered all my questions. Thank you so much.
