Applied to VT a few months ago. Just have a few questions about it (Sorry for asking so many):

1. I got an 1840 on the SAT and maintaining a 3.8 GPA. Is that enough to get accepted to VT?
2. How is the campus and surrounding city in VT?
3. How are the dorms and food?
4. How is the quality of academics at VT?
5. How is their computer science program?
6. How does it compare to the other schools I applied to: Syracuse, Binghamton, Buffalo, UNC, ECU, UCONN, U of R, etc.
7. How hardcore are the sports fans there?

This site is probably better suited for your questions.

Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (StudentsReview) - College Reviews Summary, Student Opinion, Tuition, Application, Sports

I suspect that if you read the reviews already posted, you'll find many of your answers.

Good luck!

Seriously...it's not cheap to apply to schools. Why you would spend the money to apply to one without knowing these basic things is beyond me.

In a nutshell, Va Tech is a great choice for someone who is outdoor oriented and is a hardcore football fan. Blacksburg is
located in a rural area far from a "big" city, unless a city like Roanoke is considered. Computer science is good there. A new
Amtrak train is coming to Roanoke in 2017 and a bus connects Blacksburg with Roanoke, fyi.

There are several facebook groups as well. If you are able to find them and join those groups, you can post questions and VT students will answer.
