There are tons of places to stay in Williamsburg but I have only stayed in a timeshare there so don't have personal expereince to recommend a place. It's pricey but the Great Wolf Lodge is very popular.
I think if you move this to the Hampton Roads thread you will get more responses.
It is a great place for a family vacation. Have fun..

I've never stayed there but would second Great Wolf Lodge as being a great place for families. It's hard to beat an indoor water park.

Kingsmill is also nice if your family has slightly older kids. It's also a bit pricey but has golf, tennis, swimming, trails and free shuttle service to Colonial Williamsburg (and Busch Gardens if you have any interest in going there).

The Marriott properties are also nice. Be careful if you select one of the lower $ hotels in Williamsburg. Even a lot of the brand name hotels there are somewhat um... "gentrified" and really aren't the nicest. I have a friend who swears by the Patrick Henry though.

Williasmburg is awesome. DH and I go down several times a year and it never gets old. Have a great time!

Default Marriott Manor Club Sequel?

Anyone know anything about this property?

We are staying here in a 2 BR unit in November.

I believe Sequel is the newer part of Marriott's Ford's Colony resort. I haven't stayed on the Sequel side but I've stayed on the original Ford's Colony property and it was very nice. Nice pools, very quiet, gorgeous golf course. If I remember correctly it is a gated resort so it feels very safe. Even without knowing the property I felt safe setting out for a long run at 4am when it was still dark--just me and the deer!

The only downfall I can really think of is the location. The property is set out a bit so you'll definitely have to drive to Colonial Williamsburg/Busch Gardens. It doesn't bother me but I know my DH would balk at staying there again because it's not terribly convenient.
