We are retirees from Massachusetts thinking about moving to Williamsburg. We’ve been there before just as tourists and loved it. We want to go there now and see if we would really like it as a permanent home. But... dam* COVID-19!! So we are thinking about camping in the area to avoid potentially problematic hotels and being able to cook most of our food. (We have a tent and all the gear necessary and will be driving so we can pack it all.)
We need information about places to camp in the area. Places that would be open during this pandemic. Just simple places to avoid a hotel. BTW does Virginia have any quarantine requirements? (We will have to when we return!)
Thank you.

This doesn't make sense to me. You still have to use public bathrooms and showers? A hotel with a private bath would be safer. Aren't you going to need water to cook with? Wash pots/pans with? You'll have go to a sink area - again a hotel would be safer.

I find the weather in Williamsburg to be hot/humid or cold/rainy. It's not good camping weather as we approach winter.

You can google camp sites.
