Winchester? 50 min drive to Dulles Airport.
We have lived here for two years, and this winter we had a lot of snow (so I liked it), last winter we had nothing.

Safe and VERY quaint and interesting historic district with breweries, pubs, cafés and restaurants.
Vineyards are 20-35 min away.

LOL. We really didn't get a lot of snow. More than the last few years but not a lot. Several of the forecasted snows were either duds or nowhere near what was called for. But it was good to see a little more snow than we saw the last couple years.

Ha,ha...you are probably correct, I was just glad to see more than nothing. I grew up with constant snow for 4 months of the year, and I do miss it. So after living in VA for over a decade,I was happy with what we got this year.

We never get what you are used to in growing up but we can have some decent snows. Or we can go whole winters with little to nothing. Seems back in the 70's and 80's we used to see some winters with all kinds of snow and water freezing for a long time. Seems rarer now.

My mom has a picture of me and my brother building a snowman on September 12....a bit extreme, but hey it is what it is. (I kid you not)

I believe. The wife grew up in Northern Minnesota at the Canadian border. Never knew how early or late they would get snow there.
