Marijuana legalization not left/right issue. It's about jobs. Either you preserve jobs for law enforcement and prison industry, or you let business service those needs. Farmers and tobacco industry is behind legalization. If you're anti-legalization, you must be a lib.

Ok, when do we get our first combat boot-clad, pink-haired, transgendered governor? I know that representation matters so much to leftists nowadays.

As a Northern VA resident I by no means vote like DC so to speak and by no means have any desire to be part of DC. Just let things be.

If she's progressive, I would gladly vote for her over any Republican.

Indeed...I'd take a candidate wrapped in a rainbow flag over a candidate wrapped in a Confederate flag any day.

Don't consider any of those laws liberal or conservative, and most overturn restrictions on people. Only 2 on death row. Marijuana good for pain management and business. Marriage good for business and society. Sick leave for essential employees doesn't change anything. Key employees often already have the better perks.

I left Virginia when I saw it turning into what it has become.

It's something we should consider, probably wouldn't cost more than 25 trillion. Let's just put it on our credit card.

The problem is this region benefits from profligate government spending. They see everyday the waste, corruption, and mismanagement in defense contracting. People and politicians see that and don't feel that their programs should be subjected to constraints when money is there for the asking for these programs. It's definitely not what one would call conservative values on either side.

The people realize now that this system is on borrowed time and the goal is to kick the can rather than deal with it. Might as well spend more. Powell tried to stop printing money in 2019 and 2020. When markets started to crash both times, he printed more money in one year than all the years after the Great Recession. No one is there to fix the problems.

They were all near party-line votes, so clearly the two parties have different philosophies on them.
